Brief

The goal is to create a secure, private environment for family events and gatherings. Unlike traditional social platforms, registration is restricted exclusively to individuals who have received an invitation from an existing family member.

Problem

The client identified a need for a dedicated space where family members can share life updates and maintain a digital representation of their lineage. Current public social media often lacks the privacy required for intimate family sharing and does not provide tools to visualize a family tree.

Process

The design phase followed a seven-step methodology to ensure a user-centric final product:

UX Research: Conducted research to understand user needs.
Market Exploration: Investigated similar applications for benchmarking.
Pain Point Identification: Isolated specific user challenges to solve.
Wireframing: Created initial wireframes and ideated solutions for identified pain points.
High-Fidelity Mockups: Designed polished visual representations of the app.
Interactive Prototypes: Built functional prototypes to simulate the user experience.
Development: Built the application using Claude Code.

Strategy

The overarching strategy is to showcase events and milestones happening within the immediate family and close friends. By restricting access to invited members only, the application ensures a secure environment for personal sharing.

Solution

The solution is a private, invite-only digital ecosystem tailored for high-security family networking. By restricting access at the sign-up level, the platform ensures that sensitive family data, photos, and lineage information remain accessible only to verified relatives. It effectively bridges the gap between a private photo album and a functional social network.

Result

The final product successfully delivers a private digital space tailored for family connectivity. It fulfills the client’s vision by bridging the gap between social sharing and genealogical tracking.
